Christmas Eve Engagements

Members of the band were invited to play carols at the offices of Eastleigh Borough council on Christmas eve morning. The band entertained council staff plus members of the public for approx, 1.5hrs. We worked our way through the carol book performing many of the popular carols plus some which we hadn't played so frequently. Carols like 'God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen', 'When a Child is Born', 'Three Kings March', 'The Virgin Mary', 'Mary's Boy Child' 'Il Est Ne' and 'Go Tell it in the Mountain'.

In the late afternoon, the full band visited Bishopstoke Methodist Church on Christmas eve for the annual carol concert, led as always by Stan. The band played many of the popular classic carols whilst members of the Church led short stories and personal reflections on Christmas and what it means to them. A few of the more uncommon pieces performed at the event were 'Brightest and Best', 'Sleigh Ride', 'Calypso Carol', 'Good Christian Men Rejoice' and 'Come and Join the Celebration'.
