The band visited Micheldever on a hot Saturday afternoon in July to provide music at the annual village fete. The format changed slightly this year as we played more sessions however each were a lot shorter than in previous years as we were interspersed with events in the main arena. We started the afternoon's entertainment with 'Anchor Song', 'Connecticut Capers' and 'Beauty and the Beast' before the sack race took place in the main arena. Our second slot included 'Marjsparade', 'My Guy' (featuring a duet by Lizette and Claudia) and 'Nar Solen' which was then followed by the three legged race in the main arena. After the short break we continued proceedings with 'Barnard Castle', 'Bless em All', 'Mancini Magic' and 'The New Recruit'. We then had a chance to explore the village fete whilst the dog show took centre stage in the main arena. After refreshments the band took over to play out the afternoon with 'Scipio', 'By George', 'Sugar Blues' (solo by Lizette), 'Hootenanny', 'Annie's Song' ( solo by Alex), 'I Started a Joke' ( duet by Fionn and Luke), and finally 'When Your Smiling'. Special thanks must go to Jack for conducting, (whilst Simon played Bass), Luke for boosting the Euphonium bench, and Claudia and Lizette for helping out whilst home from university.
