Band at a Baptism

The final engagement of a busy weekend saw the band playing at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church for the morning worship on Sunday 17th June 2018. The service was special for band member Gemma and her husband Oskari as it included the baptism of four week old Leo. The band, without Gemma, played ‘Speak O God’ arr. Simon Farrenden to the Introit.. In fact the service included quite a few of Simon’s arrangements: ‘Father God I Wander’, ‘One More Step’ and ‘I, the Lord of Sea and Sky’. The service also featured the tune ‘Ottawa’ from the Salvation Army hymn tune book. The final three pieces played were all from the Salvation Army’s Scripture Based Songs publication ‘Glorious Things of thee are Spoken (Abbotts Leigh)’, ‘Be Still for the Presence of the Lord’ and ‘All the World is Waiting’.
