The first event of a busy weekend saw 28 members of the band performing outside Winchester Cathedral on Friday evening (15th June). The event was hosted by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One. The band was asked to perform outside before the service started to entertain attendees, on-lookers and before the VIP’s arrived. The music performed was ‘Marsjparade’ arr. D Van Der Nijaaten, ‘The New Recruit’ by G Southwell, ‘Rule Britannia’ arr. S Johnson, ‘Bless ‘em All’ by J Hughes and F Lake, ‘Vera Lynn Forever’ by W Hautvast, ‘Barnard Castle’ by G Richards, finishing with ‘London River Overture’ by R Heath.
