Traditional Carol Service

Writer's picture: Gemma VirtanenGemma Virtanen

22 members of the band visited Horton Heath community centre on Sunday 17th December to play for the Baptist Church’s annual carol service. It was a fairly traditional carol service with readings, carols and a couple of short films all interwoven. The service centred around the 4 themes of Peace, Hope, Love and Joy. The band were asked to play for 8 carols starting with ‘Silent Night’, then moving onto ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Once in Royal David’s City’. ‘See Him Lying on a Bed of Straw’ and ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ got the audience going mid-way through the service before we finished with ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’, ‘Good King Wenceslas’ and ‘We Three Kings’.
