The first of the Christmas engagements was the 1st Chandler's Ford BB seasonal concert held on Saturday 2nd December at Chandler's Ford Methodist church. The band opened the concert with three pieces, two of which were non seasonal. First up was 'Royal Osborne' a march by Andy Norman, this was followed by 'Holly Waltz' by Martin Cordner, and to end the first stint 'Simply Rocks' by Rob Ares.
After items by the different sections of the company, the band returned for it's second stint. On the playlist for the second half was 'Let it Snow' arr. By Rieks Van Der Velde, 'Baby its Cold Outside' by Frank Loesser featuring a duet by Annabelle and Dan, and 'Mid Winter' arr by Richard Phillips. The band also played the following carols which the audience joined in and sung to; 'We Three Kings', 'Jingle Bells', 'Joy to the World', and 'We Wish you a Merry Christmas'.
Thanks must go to Jack Simmonds for standing in and conducting the band whilst Simon played Bass. Many encouraging comments were received after the concert with regards to Jack's conducting style and enthusiasm.
