On the 17 September 2017 18 members of the band assembled for the first engagement on the new session. It was a fairly good turn out, although slightly un-balanced, given the late notice that the band was playing for the morning worship at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church led by the Rev. John Archer. We started with the Introit ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ which was arranged by Simon Farrenden. We played 6 other hymns during the service all accompanied to music from the Salvation Army’s Hymn Tune Book, those being ‘Awbridge’, ‘Cross of Jesus’, ‘All Through the Night’, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Anything for Jesus’ and ‘Will Your Anchor Hold’. As the service finished and the congregation headed for refreshments we serenaded them with 1 final tune ‘Count Your Blessings’ again from the S.A hymn tune book.
