Sunday Morning Worship

Writer's picture: Gemma VirtanenGemma Virtanen

The band was asked to provide the music for the Sunday morning worship at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church on 13th August. The service was led by a local preacher Dr John Evans, and 15 members of the band attended and provided a reasonable sound despite the balance of the band being slightly lopsided due to many of the bass half of the band being on holiday.

We played two pieces arranged by Simon Farrenden: ‘This is the God We Adore’ and ‘Rhuddlan’. Followed by ‘Song of Joy’ by Beethoven. Three other songs were accompanied by music from the Salvation Army’s Scripture Based Songs compilation: ‘All Heaven Declares’, ‘Beauty for Brokenness’ and ‘All for Thee’. We finished off as the congregation left for refreshments by playing ‘Song of the Highway’ from the Salvation Army’s hymn tune book.
