Three members spent a weekend in hull at the invitation of the 5th Hull company and took part in their music concert. Being the city of culture for the UK the theme was represented in the music and the evenings activities. We spent the afternoon rehearsing under the baton of Chris heron bringing all the different participants together. The first half was a concert of the Hull band with highlights of their year and success and musical activities. A great programme of music was presented by a young group of boys and girls. The second half with all the different coloured t-shirts made a colourful visual display of members and guests. Guests came from about 6 other local companies as well as us from Hampshire. The programme had a good mix of slow and lively, old and new, rock/pop to classical and included a soloist (aged 9) playing the trumpet tune to a high standard. The evening ended with the encore "caravan of love" which went down well with the audience as they departed the venue.
