Saturday 3rd December saw the start of the band's Christmas performances. It was the BB company's annual Christmas concert at Chandler's Ford Methodist Church. The band opened the concert with three pieces; 'The Parade of the Tim Soldiers' by Leon Jessel, 'Christmas Lullaby' by John Rutter and 'Winter Wonderland' trad. Arr. By Simon Farrenden. The latter of the three pieces featured a solo by, one of the band's youngest members, Fionn on Baritone. Then band then had a rest but came back towards the end of the concert to perform 'Stop the Calvary' by Jona Lewie, 'Christmas Swingalong' arr. By Derek Ashmore, and 'Jingle Bells' also arr. By Derek Ashmore. The concert was concluded by the performance of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' from the Salvation Army Sounds of Christmas book.
Sunday 4th December saw the band performing for the second time over the weekend. This time the band was playing for the morning service at Chandler's Ford Methodist church. The service led by the Rev. Peter Cornick was the church's annual toy service and also the second service of advent. The band played the following hymns; 'Light of the World, Here I am to Worship', 'The Light has Come' both of which were from the Salvation Army's Scripture Based Songs book. Then two arrangements by our conductor Simon Farrenden; 'Darkness Like a Shroud' and 'Born in the Night'. There were two further hymns during the service, 'The Little Cornard' from the Salvation Army hymn book, and 'The Manger Scene' from the Salvation Army's Sounds of Christmas book. After the service the 19 members concluded by playing 'Jesus Good Above all Other'.
