Sunday 6th November 2016 saw the band playing for the morning service at Chandlers Ford Methodist church. It was a special service led by Rev. Peter Cornick as it was the annual rededication service for both the Boys and Girls brigade companies.

The service was also an occasion to dedicate 2 new music books published by the Salvation Army. The books were purchased thanks to donations in memory of Roy Monk, and also a donation by existing member Brian Chambers. Roy helped to form the band many years ago and was the first band master, he sadly passed away in 2015.

The band played music from both of the new hymn books as well as the older more traditional hymn tune book published by the Salvation Army. The pieces played during the service were ‘Be Still for the Presence of the Lord’, ‘Praise My Soul’, ‘Majesty’, ‘Teach me to Dance’, ‘He is the Lord’, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and finally ‘Will your Anchor Hold’. After the service we concluded by playing ‘Song of the Highway’, ‘In the Strength of the Lord’ and ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’.
