This month is the springboard into the start of the Christmas period as practices are given over to learning festive music. A joy for most, and an overdose for others (so soon!) and the Santa Board has already made its appearance with the number of days counting down!! This year we were asked to provide music for the service of Remembrance at Chandler's Ford Methodist Church (8 November) including calls from two of our young cornet players (Stephen & William) as well as providing music for the hymns and a special piece for the end of the sermon. We also had other cornet players providing calls in other locations too. We also have a combined concert that we are looking forward to with Meridan Winds in the middle of this month (15 November) at the Berry Theatre in Hedge End. We spent an enjoyable, if not exhausting, Remembrance afternoon sight reading the programme. Most left with a sense of satisfaction, if not, experience.
